To educate and empower, give help and instill hope, and shed light into the darkness that surrounds mental illness.
My goal is to create positive change and growth, in one mind at a time.
If you have seen too many downfalls, it's time the good things start showing up. Sometimes recovery is a blessing in disguise, but no matter how trying the process is, it's a beautiful feeling to make that choice. And you deserve to make it because there's more to life than what you're feeling right now. You can enjoy life again, not just survive it. Trust your own process. This journey is as individual as you are. And I believe there are a few universal truths that you would benefit from while walking your path. You can say them quietly to yourself, mouth the words, write them on a piece of paper, or look in a mirror and tell them to your reflection every day. It doesn't matter how or when you say them, it doesn't even matter if you believe them at first, just repeat the words over and over again: "I am strong. I am loved. I am radiant. I am not alone. I will beat the odds. I will rise up. I will break free. I am not giving up. I am worth recovery.”
What's important to remember is that mental illness can be as empowering as it is disabling and helpful as it is destructive. But the descent does not define you. The rise of who you are and your recovery into wholeness is what makes life an enriched and satisfying experience. Having hope and a belief that you are worth healing is vital to your recovery. This is a lifetime journey of ebb and flow. You will live through sensational highs and devastating lows. This life is intense, messy, and full of painful things. It’s also full of overcoming adversity and reaching peaks that you thought weren't possible.
This is why living with anything that can cause such distress, despite the overwhelming battles we face every day, is worth the long road to recovery. The path of getting better isn't linear. It’s not easy. It’s not an overnight fix. Having a mental illness is never a choice and it's never something anyone wants. But getting help and living a better life, is. And it's absolutely worth it.
I know that the fight against mental illness and stigma may be one you fight for a long while, but you will not have to fight the battle alone. Here, happy hearts and healthy minds are the goal. Starting today, I want all of you to know that you deserve to live in light and not suffer in silence in the dark. The journey of recovery can be intense, unpredictable and might very well be the fight of your life, but you are worth whatever it takes to heal your pain. Today, right now, right here, is where your healing can begin.
In a world where there is so much darkness, depression and animosity, a guiding light would prove commendable. A night light for the daytime, so to speak. Sometimes our path is so dark that we will stumble, and we need something to assist on our long and winding paths. I hope this site can be that "night light" for you.
